And Just Like That… is coming back with a second season and, whether you hated the first one or not, you know you’re going to tune in to see what Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and gang are up to now.

The first season of the reboot of Sex and the City was released in December 2021 and was met with polarising responses. The biggest critique of the series was the way Samantha Jones’ disappearance was dealt with on the show. With actress Kim Cattrall refusing to return to the show, the makers packed her character off to London after a tiff with Bradshaw. This didn’t go down well with the loyal fans of the character being left miffed with the reason for her character’s relocation. Aside from this, the show killed off Big (Chris Noth) in the first episode, another decision that left fans of the show baffled.

Despite these problematic choices, the show garnered a fan base of its own and is now coming back with a second season with newer fashion and more Aidan Shaw!

So without further ado, here are a few of your burning questions about the second season answered…

What is And Just Like That… season 2 going to be about?

Showrunner Michael Patrick King has been tight-lipped about the plot of the show and has not revealed anything about the plot. Parker, however, gave her fans a little glimpse into the second season when she said that it would be about “resilience, and rebound, and laughter, and finding laughter more easily for people who might have experienced grief.”

This, coupled with the news that Aiden Shaw (John Corbett) is returning for the sophomore season, makes us believe that we would be delving deep into Bradshaw’s love life this season.

We also know that the fashion is going to be turned up to an eleven with this one. Pictures of Bradshaw donning her Vivienne Westwood wedding gown (minus the blue Manohlos) were shared recently, fuelling fan theories about the plot of the second season.

Aside from this, the makers also shared photos of Bradshaw in a utilitarian jumpsuit paired with Dior heels and a JW Anderson pigeon bag that went viral instantly.

Is Samantha going to return in season 2?

While she agrees to get drinks with Bradshaw, via text, at the end of the first season’s finale, you should not get your hopes up for Samantha returning to the show anytime soon. King revealed that, while he would like to play his cards close to his chest, he doesn’t believe that Cattrall would be up for reprising her role as the fierce and fabulous PR agent. Parker also shared in an interview that she would not be comfortable with Cattrall back on the show as they have a lot of public history between them.

Who all are going to be in season 2?

Aside from Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis are going to return as Miranda and Charlotte respectively. In a heartbreaking turn of events, Willie Garson, who played Stanford, died of pancreatic cancer at 57, just before finishing filming for the first season.

With the recent photo shared by Parker on Instagram, it’s confirmed that Corbett would be returning as Aidan in the show. Aside from this, Sara Ramirez (who played Che Diaz), Sarita Choudhury (who played Seema Patel), Nicole Ari Parker (who played Lisa Todd Wexley), Karen Bittman (who played Dr. Nya Wallace), and Mario Catone (who played Anthony) will be returning to the show.

When will the second season air?

There has been no release date confirmed till now, but, according to several reports, the show might return in Summer 2023.
