Looks like our favourite fiancé from Sex And The City might be making a much-needed comeback. Yup, we’re talking about perfect, dreamy Aidan Shaw. The furniture-making dog lover made an impact like none of the other men in Carrie’s life. In fact, many fans have had many a passionate argument as to why Aidan was way better for Carrie than Mr. Big. And even though we never got to see #Caidan [yes we just made up our couple name for them] live their ‘happily ever after’, his supposed return on AJLT has her hopeful. Do we smell a rekindling romance?
Shaw, played by John Corbett, did make an appearance earlier in the film, Sex And The City 2, where our favourite New York-based columnist, Carrie Bradshaw, bumps into Shaw while she’s vacationing in Abu Dhabi with the girls.
Earlier this year, during an interview with Page Six, Corbett teased that he will be a part of the SATC reboot series, And Just Like That... season 2. While the rumours were immediately shut down by the show’s team, Parker is not completely against the idea. Talking about Shaw’s revelation, Parker replied, “It was fun. It was fun for him to say that. When he actually reached out, very kindly, because he’s nothing if not a gentleman, and apologised for doing that as a joke, and then I was like, ‘No, no, no it’s a free country first of all’. And I thought it was kind of delightful and kind of fun,” she added.

And we now hear that the joke may just be true because there’s talk of Shaw returning. This comes in after the first season showed Carrie mourning the sudden loss of Big and navigating life without him. While we don’t know what role Shaw will play in Bradshaw’s life, we’re hoping the writers have some serious romance planned for them. This is us, manifesting #Caidan!
