But finding a new show that is perfect for you can be hard—especially when you have subscriptions to multiple streaming services. And sure, taking recommendations from your friends and family is the best way to go ahead, but there are times when those recommended shows don’t exactly float your boat.

What if we told you though that some of those shows are actually worth watching, despite the slow beginnings? Trust us, these shows will change your life and might just become your new comfort show!

The Office

The one statement you’ll often hear from a The Office fan is that “it gets better after season one.” And that’s as true as it gets. Shot in a documentary style, the show revolves around a small paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania and documents the daily goings-on of its employees. Your favourite actors today, Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Mindy Kaling, are all regulars and an abosulte delight to watch. The way the show plays works with humour and sarcasm is the reason why the show is a cult favourite.

Never Have I Ever

Netflix’s comedy-drama series, Never Have I Ever is a full-fledged teen show that often leaves you questioning your own sanity. The relatable life of Devi, an Indian-American teen who after a traumatic year decides to improve her social ranking and finally be on the top of the high school tier, is more enteratining that cringe-y than one would have assumed. But things rarely go according to plan for Devi as she finds herself in not one but multiple awkward situations that threaten to take away her dream high school life. Never Have I Ever can get off as a bit much in the beginning but Mindy Kaling’s brilliance shines through, and you find yourself invest in Devi sooner than you think.

Game Of Thrones

The show that had the entire world literally on their knees, Game Of Thrones is one of the few shows that has a humongous fan following spanning countries. A series that shows the complicated world of the nine noble families of Westeros that fight it out against each other to gain power over the iron throne, we admit it takes a while to get used to the over-the-top plot, casts and extremely long episodes. But once you get accustomed to it, you will not be able to stop. Spoilers aside (there are so many on the Internet), nothing compares to watching the show and you should definitely give it a try.
