As the temperatures dip, the time is perfect to curl up on the couch with a mug of steaming hot chocolate and a good movie or TV show streaming on the television. Thankfully, the last month of the year is packed with exciting titles that we’ve been waiting to watch for ages.

Naga Chaitanya’s web series debut will kick off the streaming calendar of December, followed by some incredible shows and movies. Zoya Akhtar’s much-anticipated The Archies is going to be available to stream this month, along with the Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adarsh Gourav-starrer Kho Gaye Hum Kahan which is also co-written and produced by the talented director.

Dhootha (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)- Release Date: 1 December 2023

Telugu superstar Naga Chaitanya is making a foray into the world of web series with this gripping supernatural thriller. Translating to ‘messenger’ in Telugu, Dhootha follows a journalist whose life turns upside down when mysterious newspaper clips begin to predict nightmarish accidents around him. The eight-episode series also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu and Prachi Desai.

Christmas As Usual (Streaming on Netflix)- Release Date: 6 December 2023

Popular Indian comedian Kanan Gill is coming to your nearest small screen with a Norwegian romantic comedy. The story follows the clash of cultures and traditions that happens after newly-engaged couple Thea and Jashan decide to visit Thea’s family for Christmas.

The Archies (Streaming on Netflix)- Release Date: 7 December 2023

We’ve all grown up reading Archie comics and now Zoya Akhtar is bringing a live-action Indian adaptation of the beloved franchise to Netflix. Set in 1960s India, it follows Archie and the gang as they navigate love, friendships, and their impact on the world around them. The movie is also the launch vehicle of star kids Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda.

Yu Yu Hakusho (Streaming on Netflix)- Release Date: 14 December 2023

‘Tis the month of beloved comics getting adapted into live-action Netflix shows and movies because Yu Yu Hakusho, the popular manga and anime series, is also joining the club. The story is about a delinquent high school student who sacrifices his own life to save a child. Because of the selfless gesture, he gets resurrected to serve as a supernatural detective.

The Family Plan (Streaming on Apple TV+)- Release Date: 15 December 2023

Mark Wahlberg stars in this action-comedy that follows a seemingly normal car salesman from the suburbs who used to be one of the deadliest assassins in the world. The chaos begins when his past threatens to catch up with him and he must go to ridiculous lengths to stop his oblivious family from discovering his secret.

Gyeonseong Creature (Streaming on Netflix)- Release Date: 22 December 2023

South Korean dream boats Park Seo-joon and Wi Ha-joon are coming together in this exciting K-drama. Set in 1945 Gyeongseong (old name of Seoul), it follows two people who have to team up to fight a monstrous creature while trying to uncover a conspiracy that threatens their country. The show also stars actress Han So-hee.

Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (Streaming on Netflix)- Release Date: 26 December 2023

Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adarsh Gourav star in this coming-of-age drama that follows three best friends as they attempt to deal with relationship issues and their own aspirations. The movie also marks director Arjun Varain Singh’s debut.
