Anne Hathaway has been quietly maintaining her icon status all these years and has proven yet again why she is the Internet’s perennial crush. Just when we were about to recover from all the bombshell fashion looks she’s been unleashing on us these past few months, news of her upcoming project dropped and it sounds amazing.

Billed as an “epic pop melodrama”, Hathaway’s upcoming movie with A24 is going to have her paired opposite Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actress Michaela Coel and will be titled Mother Mary.

The official synopsis reveals that the movie will follow the relationship between a musician (Hathaway) and a renowned fashion designer (Coel). To nobody’s surprise, the news created an immediate buzz on social media with stans hailing this as the movie of the century.

Not only are fans excited to see Hathaway in a new project, but the pairing with a brilliant performer like Coel is also enough to send the excitement levels to the stratosphere.

Pop icon Charli XCX and producer Jack Antonoff will be working on the original score for the movie.

While the makers haven’t revealed a release date, we know that the movie is going to be written and directed by David Lowery and will be filmed in Germany.
