Try These ‘Beertail’ Recipes For International Beer Day

The first Friday of every August is reserved for a very special day for beer lovers across the world. It’s the official International Beer Day and it’s the perfect time to grab a cold one with your friends and celebrate the holiday the way it’s meant to be.
It all started back in 2007 when the day was conceptualised in Santa Cruz, California. Since then, it has grown and become a worldwide celebration, spanning 80 countries. The founder, Jesse Avshalomov, intended the day to not just be a celebration of beer, but also raise a toast to the brewers and those who serve it. It also allows beer aficionados to shine a spotlight on the different varieties hailing from countries around the world, as well as highlight the drinking culture from where they come.

So, we figured the best way to celebrate this International Beer Day would be to try out a beer trend that’s been taking over the world all summer: the ‘Beertail’.
Beertail, or Beer Cocktail, is exactly what the name suggests. It’s a cocktail made using beer and additional ingredients. While Beertails are not a new thing, they surely have been getting their due recognition lately. “Beertails have surely been picking up in the market among cocktail lovers,” confirms Sushil Dhanai, senior mixologist at Gurugram-based Dhansoo Café.
Naveen Bisht, mixologist at Café Staywoke further added, “Beertails, or craft recipes curated with beer, showcase the varying complex flavours and unique profiles of beer. It’s catching on because it’s innovative and offers a new take on cocktails.”
So if you want to hop on the Beertails trend, then there’s no better day to do it than on International Beer Day. Here are two recipes by these expert mixologists to try at home tonight…
