Made using Tequila, this Mexican cocktail is just what you need to get every party started. While the classic version only include a handful of ingredients like tequila, lime, soda and a salted rim, we’ve brought you a few margarita recipes with a twist. 4 Margarita Recipes To Try At Home

1. Spicy Mangorita

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila
  • 20ml Mango Puree
  • 15ml Lime Juice
  • 2-3 Jalapenos

Method:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the jalapeño slices to release their flavour and spice. Be cautious with the number of jalapeños slices you use; adjust according to your preferred level of spiciness.
  2. Add 60ml of tequila, mango puree and lime juice to the shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake the mixture vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to chill it thoroughly.
  4. Strain the cocktail into a salt-rimmed glass filled with ice.
  5. Garnish with a slice of mango or a lime wedge.

2. Palomita

Ingredients:

  • 45ml Tequila
  • 20ml Grapefruit and Rosemary Cordial
  • 15ml Lime Juice
  • Soda

Method:

  1. Pour the tequila, grapefruit and rosemary cordial, and lime juice into the glass.
  2. Stir the ingredients well to combine.
  3. Top up the glass with soda water.
  4. Gently stir again to mix everything.
  5. Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit or a sprig of rosemary for an extra touch of flavour and aroma.

3. Guava Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 Guava, sliced
  • 60ml Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila
  • 4-5 stems of Cilantro
  • 15ml Lime Juice, fresh

Method:

  1. To infuse the tequila with guava flavour, simply add guava slices or chunks to a bottle of Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila and let it infuse for at least 24 hours. The longer it infuses, the stronger the guava flavour will be.
  2. Once the tequila is infused, take a cocktail shaker and muddle the fresh cilantro stems to release their flavour.
  3. Add the guava-infused tequila and fresh lime juice to the shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
  5. Shake the mixture vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to chill it thoroughly.
  6. Rim the edge of a margarita glass with salt or sugar by running a lime wedge around the rim and then dipping it into a plate of salt or sugar.
  7. Strain the margarita into the prepared glass filled with ice cubes.
  8. Garnish with a lime wedge or a slice of guava for an extra touch of presentation.

4. Honey Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Tequila
  • Few sprigs of Thyme
  • 1 cup Honey
  • 1 cup Water
  • 15ml Lime Juice

Method:

  1. First, prepare a honey and thyme syrup by combining equal parts honey and water in a saucepan over low heat. Add a few sprigs of fresh thyme. Stir until the honey is fully dissolved, then let it cool before using. Once cooled, strain out the thyme leaves.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine 60ml of Jose Cuervo Especial Silver tequila, 20ml of honey and thyme Syrup, as well as fresh lime juice.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake the mixture vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to chill it thoroughly.
  4. Strain the cocktail into a glass filled with ice cubes.
  5. Garnish with a sprig of fresh thyme for added aroma and presentation.
