5 Indian Models Who Walked The NYFW Runway This Season
New York Fashion Week (NYFW) has seen a lot of Indian talent this season—be it designers like Falguni Shane Peacock and Kanika Goyal, to brands like Anaar, as well as some prominent Indian-origin models.
Indian representation on the global scene has been on the rise. We have designers like Gaurav Gupta and Rahul Mishra regularly making their presence felt on international runways and celebrity wardrobes. May 2023 even saw Dior recognise Indian craftsmanship and create collections featuring work by Indian artisans.

And for several years now, Lakshmi Menon and Avanti Nagrath among several others have been regular fixtures on several international runways. So, it comes as no surprise that we spotted some familiar faces at the NYFW this season. Here are five you should know about:
Lakshmi Menon for Khaite at the NYFW

The supermodel was seen working the runway for New York-based brand Khaite at the NYFW. Lakshmi Menon is no stranger to modelling for international names like Jean Paul Gaultier, Hermès, Givenchy and Max Mara. She was also the first Indian model to be featured in the iconic Pirelli Calendar, where she was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.
Avanti Nagrath for Ralph Lauren at NYFW

Avanti Nagrath has traced an extraordinary path from Delhi to Milan in her supermodel journey. The model walked the runway for Ralph Lauren’s S/S 24 showcase at the NYFW. The model became a name to look out for when she was chosen to open the Versace Autumn/Winter 2022-23 show at Milan Fashion Week.

The stunning model walked the runway for Aknvas at the NYFW this time around and gave her Instagram followers a peek into what goes on behind the scenes at the event. Previously, she has modelled for names like Oscar de la Renta, Dries Van Noten and Michael Kors.
