Balenciaga is no stranger to making waves with its campaigns and runways and their latest showcase didn’t disappoint. The controversial brand made its way to the land of Hollywood for its first-ever show in LA this Sunday.

Our favourite stars gathered on a plam-lined street smack in the center of Hollywood as Balenciaga rolled out its Pre-Fall 2024 line.

The front row saw Balenciaga regulars like Kim Kardashian and the label’s ambassador Nicole Kidman. The star-studded guest list included Kendall Jenner, Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn Beckham, Vittoria Ceretti, Lil Wayne, Tracee Ellis Ross, Joey King, Taylor Zakhar Perez, and Lisa Rinna (to name a few!).

But the cherry on top of the star-studded sundae was Cardi B’s debut on the runway.

The ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper walked down the runway in a cobalt furry coat, adding to Balenciaga’s head honcho Demna’s turn towards enlisting celebrities to models for their shows.

The collection featured the label’s characteristic slouchy streetwear with a heavy dose of early 2000s nostalgia. There were oversized UGG boots, thongs peaking out of low-cut velour tracksuits, and logo-laden leather goods.

Demna addressed his decision to come to LA for the showcase, saying, “Often people perceive my work as ironic—actually it’s the opposite. I was showing my love to the influence that I got from this city, it’s my favorite city in the world. All my cultural evolution as a teenager, growing up in this kind of post-Soviet vacuum, it really came from here: movies, music, everything that I kind of absorbed that later on started to become my fashion references.”
