Anyone who loves fashion and a feel-good ‘chick-flick’ has definitely seen the 1997 classic Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. Starring Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino, the film’s impeccable fashion, thanks to legendary costume designer Mona May, was one of the many reasons it was a favourite. And, now, we hear that there may be a sequel in the works.

Recently during an interview, Sorvino, who plays the role of Romy, shared a small update on the film’s sequel. “There’s nothing official to report but I can unofficially hint that we’re closer than we’ve ever been to getting something to happen,” she said.

Even Kudrow, who plays the role of Michele, has dropped hints about the sequel during many interviews. Earlier this year, the pair reunited at the SAG Awards, wearing matching outfits in true Romy and Michele fashion, giving the fans a moment to remember for a lifetime.

The original movie revolves around two best friends, Romy and Michele who have yet to make it even at the age of 28. With the high school reunion coming up, the pair decides to create fake stories about their success and show their classmates that they are doing brilliantly. But things start going south when their lies start coming apart and threaten to ruin their friendship.

While we still get confirmations on the same (*secretly prays that this is true*), we’re going to rewatch the classic this weekend. What about you?
