Over the past few years, India has made an indelible mark on the global fine dining scene. From Indian Michelin-starred chefs opening successful restaurants overseas to discovering the rich vibrancy of Indian cuisine on an international scale, the Indian food industry has been making the country proud and how!

Three Indian restaurants were added to this growing list by being featured in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023.

Mumbai’s fine dining restaurant Masque ranked at #16, rising from its previous position at #21, Delhi’s Indian Accent was placed at #19, a step up from its last #22 position, and Avartana at ITC Grand Chola in Chennai debuted on the list at #30. Avartana even scored a trophy for being the ‘Highest New Entry’ on the list.

The award ceremony was held at Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa and was organised by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy. It is made up of more than 300 food writers, critics, chefs, and restaurateurs who have an in-depth knowledge of Asia’s thriving restaurant scene.

Bangkok was proven to be filled with critic-favourite eateries as it scored the most number of top-rated spots on the list, with its Le Du being crowned #1 and Nusara placing at #3.

Japan followed close behind with many entries in the list, including the #2 spot with Sezanne.
