Chef Manish Mehrotra’s New Delhi-based restaurant Indian Accent has become the only Indian restaurant to land a place in the recently released ‘World’s Best Restaurants’ List.

World’s 50 Best organisation released the much-anticipated list at an event held in London, in the midst of the ongoing brutal heatwave, with actor Stanley Tucci playing master of the ceremony for the evening.

Danish restaurant Geranium found itself at the top of the list in first place, for the second time in two years, and Central (Lima) and Disfrutar (Barcelona) followed at second and third place respectively.

Indian Accent made it’s entry for the first time on the list at the 92nd place, and was the only Indian restaurant on the list. Mehrotra was also awarded the top honour at the recently held FoodSuperstars awards.
