You Need To Make Ryan Reynolds’ Gin Cocktail Recipe This NYE

The world is divided on a number of issues, but there’s one thing we can generally agree upon: Ryan Reynolds is an absolute gem. The actor has been married to Gossip Girl alum Blake Lively since 2012. And the couple, now parents to three kiddos, have been serving up relationship goals of epic proportions ever since. But the best part is that Reynolds is not only a dynamite husband, he also easily steps into the shoes of a doting son at any given moment.

The beloved Vancouver celebrity released a video on social media promoting his Aviation Gin company back in May 2022 and prepared a special Mother’s Day cocktail called ‘Mother’s Ruin Punch.’ And with New Year’s Eve right around the corner, a new cocktail recipe is just what you need for your party menu.

The video features his real mother Tammy Reynolds, who outshines him by playfully pointing out every little flaw in her son’s performance and recipe, and shows us who the Deadpool star gets his witty banter from.

Ryan’s well-seasoned sarcasm is cranked into full gear as he takes viewers through the step-by-step process of making a delicious-looking grapefruit cocktail with gin, vermouth, and champagne. The duo makes a great team with Tammy scolding Ryan for his lack of coasters and not stirring the drink counterclockwise (get it together, Ryan!).

So, while you reflect on the year gone by and the experiences you’ve gained, let’s take a look at this gin cocktail recipe.

Mother’s Ruin Punch (serves 4-6 moms)

Ingredients

½ Cup Sugar

¾ Cup Club Soda

1 ½ Cups Grapefruit Juice

¾ Cup Lemon Juice

¾ Cup Sweet Vermouth

1 ½ Cups Gin

Top with Champagne

Method

  1. First combine some ice cubes, half a cup of sugar and club soda in a mixing bowl and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Then add the grapefruit juice, lemon juice, sweet vermouth and some gin to the concoction and let it chill in the fridge for an hour.
  3. Once chilled, pour this mixture in a cocktail glass and top it off with some champagne, and voilà!
