Ever since BTS announced their hiatus, their massive fanbase aka ARMY have been kept on their toes with solo album releases, festival stages, documentaries on Disney + Hotstar, book release, and reality show appearances. Most members like RM, Suga, J-Hope, and Jimin have now ventured into doing their own thing. And now, it’s V’s turn to release his debut solo album and we cannot keep calm.

On August 8, 2023, Bighit Music announced that V, or Kim Taehyung, will be releasing his first solo studio album called Layo(V)er in September. Seeing the wildly different styles explored by his fellow group members, it’s safe to say that expectations from V’s first album are sky high already. The first single from the album, ‘Love Me Again’, has already been released on YouTube with a music video and it has given fans a glimpse of what they can expect from the album.

Here’s Everything To Know About V’s Layo(V)er

When is V’s debut solo album releasing?

V’s Layo(V)er will be launched on September 8, 2023.

What is the concept of V’s solo album?

Bighit Music shared a small teaser along with the album announcement which showed a series of packages, covered in stickers of V, wrapped in purple tape being delivered to different houses. In a statement accompanying the teaser, V said, “This is an album that has my personal preferences. There will be a lot of things to show. I prepared it while thinking that ARMY would be happy, so I hope you all look forward to it. You will be able to see solo artist V, which will show a new side and will be different from BTS’s V.”

The artist is collaborating with fellow Hybe group NewJeans’ creative director Hee Jin Min for the album, with her overseeing the choreography, design, music production and promotions.

What are the songs that will feature on V’s solo album?

The ‘Winter Bear’ singer also shared a ‘promotion map’ with the album announcement that outlined everything fans can expect in the run-up to the release date. The album’s first single ‘Love Me Again’ released on August 10, with a music video where V is seen crooning the song in a limestone cave next to vintage television sets displaying the lyrics.

The next song, ‘Rainy Days’, will be released on August 11, after which the two singles will be released on streaming platforms too. In total, there are six tracks on the album and the final single ‘Slow Dancing’ will be released on September 8, along with the rest of the album.

“‘Rainy Days’ captures V’s voice beautifully, melding with the sound of rain and everyday white noises. ‘Blue’ is an homage to old school R&B with a modern twist in sound. ‘Love Me Again’ is a captivating R&B track that highlights V’s low pitch voice. ‘For Us’ is a pop R&B track that serves as an epilogue, stirring up deep emotions with V’s vocals and unique lyrics,” read a statement from Bighit Music.

According to the artist, the album is meant to be listened to in the order prescribed and each song will have its own music video too. We can’t wait to hear the music V creates outside of BTS and the stories he weaves.
