Netflix just released its first-ever teaser of Andrew Dominik’s highly-anticipated film, Blonde. Starring Ana de Armas as the legendary Marilyn Monroe, the movie is based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates, which is a fictional retelling of the Hollywood icon’s life. Directed by Andrew Dominik, the film also stars Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, Xavier Samuel, and Evan Williams.

The movie reimagines Monroe’s highly public life in the ’50s and creates the perfect marriage between fact and fiction. And just like the controversial life of Monroe, there have been a few controversies around Blonde’s NC-17 viewership rating too. We also hear that it created some tension between Dominik and Netflix but, earlier this year, in an interview, the filmmaker revealed that he has “nothing but gratitude for Netflix.”

Ana de Armas‘ portrayal of Marilyn Monroe has excited fans around the world. Their uncanny resemblance has created a buzz on social media, with fans applauding the Knives Out actor for her stunning performance. Armas has already been having a busy year with back-to-back releases and is now gearing for Blonde’s release on September 23, 2022.
