In case you didn’t know, we’re right in the middle of World Negroni Week and the cocktail’s enthusiasts all over the world are celebrating with their own versions of the classic Italian cocktail.

But one tribute has managed to stand out more than the others, quite literally!

The Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok hotel, Thailand, mixed the world’s largest Negroni cocktail and set a new Guinness World Record to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Negroni week.

The hotel mixed up a cocktail that officially measured 633.65 litres and broke the record that was previously held by The Sicilian Butcher, from Arizona, USA, where they mixed a Negroni measuring 504 litres.

The new record-setting cocktail was created by pouring gin, Campari bitters, and vermouth into a custom-built 5.5ft by 4.5 ft acrylic container surrounded by ice. The ginormous drink was prepared in the hotel’s outdoor garden and was tested by a Guinness World Record adjudicator who declared the drink a record-setter then and there.

Now the drink will be served to guests in one-tenth replica ice cube glasses at the hotel’s cocktail bar and Italian restaurant until it’s entirely gone.

If you’re not sure whether you’ll be able to score yourself a glass of this record-setting Negroni, you can celebrate Negroni Week at home by trying out this expert-recommended recipe yourself.
