A new Bridgerton season has brought with it a resurgence of Regencycore fashion. While Colin and Penelope’s budding love story had us hooked, we couldn’t help but be mesmerised all over again by the stunning costumes of the hit Netflix show. Think full skirts, gorgeous pastel fabrics adorned with delicate lace, opera-length gloves, pointy-toed flats and kitten heels.
While we can’t go full Bridgerton with our looks this summer (the relentless heat puts voluminous silhouettes out of question), we can still infuse a bit of Regencycore into our wardrobes effortlessly.
The trend can be given makeover for today with corsetted sundresses, tiered skirts, empire-waisted dresses, baby doll tops, puff sleeves, diaphanous fabrics, pastel shades, all with a healthy sprinkling of bows! If you’re someone who likes subtlety in their fashion statements, then you can opt for accessories like pearl headbands, lace gloves and the back-in-style ballet flats to embody the spirit of a Bridgerton character out and about on the ton.
The trend can even be adopted for wedding wardrobes for the hot season: just take inspiration from Alia Bhatt’s stunning Met Gala look from this year. Although, you might want to give the dramatic train a miss!
