Can the Duke and the Viscount hang out together without Bridgerton season 3 reunion rumours? The answer to that question is a firm “No”, as evidenced by the meltdown that occurred among fans after actor Regé-Jean Page shared a photo of himself hanging out with Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton, for those in the know) on his Instagram recently.

Page and Bailey reconnected in Italy during Milan Fashion Week and The Gray Man actor posted the photo with a caption that said, “The boys are back in town.”

This led fans to the obvious conclusion that the actor is returning for the upcoming season of the show after being absent during the second one.

The speculations were further fuelled when Bailey and Simone Ashley confirmed that they would be returning for the third season, reprising their role as Anthony and Kate Bridgerton.

But Page cleared the air after a while and edited his caption to put the speculations to rest.

“(No, I’m not going back to the show btw - the papers made that one up.). But we had the best, and most stylish, catch-up I’ve had in a while over some truly excellent Italian coffee and sunshine,” he wrote, below the original caption.

While there’s a lot to look forward to with the upcoming season, sadly Page is not going to be one of them. But if you’re someone who likes to look at the glass as half full in every situation, there’s going to be a season four. Maybe we can expect a Duke of Hastings cameo then?
