At this point, we should all be prepared for whatever major hype Balenciaga will cause with its campaigns or collections. With Demna Gvasalia at the helm, the brand has continuously managed to shock and delight its fans with offerings like the collaboration with Crocs, or the ‘fully destroyed’ sneakers worth INR 1.4 lakhs.
So it should be no surprise that Gvasalia’s second showcase with the brand at Paris Fashion Week managed to make news for its unexpectedly star-studded runway. The designer managed to rope in the brand’s most iconic muses, including Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman, and Dua Lipa, for its Autumn-Winter showcase. Supermodels Naomi Campbell and Bella Hadid also walked for the designer. The show also marked the runway debut of Selling Sunset’s Christine Quinn.
These celebrities joined models that channeled mannequin realness in plexiglass face shields and mechanical movements, garbed in Japanese neoprene, all-black dresses that slowly gave way to a more colourful palette.
Exaggerated silhouettes and vinyl maxi gloves reigned supreme with Kardashian wearing a sleek, high-shine black dress with a sweetheart neckline, Kidman walked in a dramatic silver gown with a long train and gloves.
Lipa and Hadid [Bella] were the more colourful of the lot, in lemon yellow and emerald green, with the gloves obviously.
Campbell showcased a massive funnel-collared dress, looking breathtaking as usual.
Aside from celebrities on the runway, the audience also had several notable names including Anna Wintour, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kris Jenner, and North West to name a few.
