While everyone waited for their ethereal wedding pictures to break Instagram with bated breath, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra tied the knot against the backdrop of Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer on a balmy February evening, surrounded by their family and friends.
With our feeds now brimming with their first few wedding images, there’s no doubt that the couple has aced their sartorial as well as beauty looks.
In classic Bollywood fashion, the couple broke the news on their respective Instagrams with matching captions (referencing the iconic dialogue from their blockbuster film Shershaah), “Ab humari permanent booking hogayi hai. We seek your blessings and love on our journey ahead”.
It comes as little surprise that the couple chose to keep silent about their relationship, as seen among most Bollywood stars. However, after a lot of frenzied speculation, our hearts are overjoyed to witness them documenting their beauitful union. The Ensembles
While Advani opted for an old-rose Manish Malhotralehenga, her beau wore a gold intricately embroidered sherwani. With her beauty choices, the actress embraced the sensibilities of the modern bride while staying rooted to her traditional rituals. Her muted rosy makeup and minimal mehendi made her the perfect modern Indian bride, the traditional floral updo and red bindi detail maintained that conventional touch.
Couturier Manish Malhotra, who also attended the wedding, shared details of the bride’s outfit and revealed that she wore a lehenga in hues of empress rose. “The lehenga features intricate embroidery detailing of the Roman architecture, inspired by the special love the newlyweds share for the city of domes. Real Swarovski crystals are embellished to embrace our signature sparkle,” he wrote on Instagram.
The groom opted for the “perfect amalgamation of whimsical and dreamy in a custom Manish Malhotra creation,” that beautifully paired with Kiara’s pastel colour palette. While explaining the design, Manish wrote, “Exuding old world charm, Sidharth wears a metallic gold sherwani with an exquisite royal lustre. The sherwani features our classic signatures, hints of ivory threadwork, gold zardozi and badla work, handcrafted with utmost finesse.”
The Jewellery
Advani teamed her look with diamond jewellery adorned with rare Zambian emeralds from the shelves of the ace designer once again. “The exclusive set features an exquisite composition of ultra-fine hand cut diamonds crafted with rare Zambian emeralds,” Manish shared on Instagram.
Her choodas (bangles) and kaleeras also received much attention. Mrinalini Chandra, who customised the kaleeras, revealed that they symbolised Kiara and Sidharth’s love story.
Chandra took to Instagram and wrote, “Our signature lovestory kaliras for the beautiful @kiaraaliaadvani (sic) was all sorts of magical ! Amidst stars, moon , couple initials & butterflies , there is a thoughtful dedication to a beloved pet, a favourite travel destination, a little love & mischief . This kalira was all heart! Kiara, you are an incredible muse and looked like a dream as a bride! We loved making your choodas & kaliras & are absolutely over the moon to see you in our work of art for your big day! Lots of love from all of us.”
Her jewellery included a broad neckpiece, matching stud earrings, kadas, a maang tikka and of course, the unmissable gigantic diamond ring presumably gifted to her by her newly-minted husband. Talk about flaunting that rock on your finger, right?
The actress was also seen wearing her sleek gold mangalsutra, which featured a design made of black beads at certain intervals.
As for the groom, he completed his look with Manish Malhotra Polki jewellery by ‘Raniwala 1881’ studded with extremely fine uncut diamonds. Together, the couple looked like they’d just stepped out of a fairytale.
A Minimalist Beauty Look
To complement her soft rose Manish Malhotra lehenga, Advani championed an effortless, nude rosy glam perfect for a day wedding. With a flawless base topped off with a wash of rosy blush, eyeshadow and lips, the actor aced monochromatic makeup with ease. Brushed-up brows and mascara lad lashes accentuated her features without overdoing it.
Classic Hairdo with Florals
Embracing classic bridal traditions, Advani opted for a sleek pulled back low-rise bun adorned with red-pink flowers to tie in with the soft rose hues of her stunning lehenga. A celebrity bride favourite for a reason, her timeless hair bun was not only a fuss-free option but also added symmetry to her face with a middle-parting.
Minimal, Dainty Mehendi
For her mehendi, the bride opted for a more minimal style with tapering patterns on the fingers anchored by a floral centre on the hands.
