Supermodel and constant fashion inspiration Gigi Hadid doesn’t see any reason why you should retire your favourite corset for the upcoming sweater season.

Hadid took a page out of the style book of her sister and fellow supermodel Bella and upped her corset game at the launch of her cashmere knitwear brand Guest in Residence.

The model layered her ivory corset with a bubblegum pink button-down and straight-legged trousers, combining two of the summer’s hottest trends, corsets and Barbiecore, together in a fun way.

Hadid kept the rest of the look simple, opting for a few necklaces and simple earrings, with her hair in a braided updo.

How to get the look?

If you want to try the layered look yourself, the trick is to keep the bottom layer oversized and slouchy. In Hadid’s case, she left the shirt below the corset unbuttoned and drooping down on one side to reveal a shoulder. In the same vein, the trousers can’t be fitted or tapered. Go for flared denim or straight-legged cotton trousers for the best effect.

A key thing to remember is to make sure the button-down shirt is either of a fun colour or print.
