SS Rajamouli’s RRR is on a roll and it’s sweeping the awards season this year. After securing a Best Original Song win at the Golden Globes recently, the movie won big at the 28th Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

The period action drama won the Best Foreign Film award and Best Song award for ‘Naatu Naatu’. The movie was also nominated in the Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Visual Effects categories.

Another award-season favourite, Everything Everywhere All At Once was the biggest winner of the night. Directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Schienert won the Best Director trophy and the movie also won the Best Picture award. Aside from this, the Michelle Yeoh starrer also won Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor awards.

K-drama fans were excited to see not one but two popular Korean series nominated in the best Foreign Language Series categories. Lee Min-ho starrer Pachinko won the award, beating shows like Extraordinary Attorney Woo and 1899.

Rian Johnson’s ensemble murder mystery Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery won the Best Acting Ensemble and Best Comedy. Actor Jeff Bridges was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

This is a precursor to the soon-to-be-announced Oscar nominations and Rajamouli’s RRR stands a good chance at bagging multiple nods in major categories at the awards too.
