Taylor Swift’s cat Olivia Benson is the third richest pet in the world. She has achieved this by being absolutely adorable, immensely popular online, and owned by one of the richest celebrities in the world.
According to AllAboutCats.com, a website dedicated to things that are all about cats, the Scottish Fold cat’s estimated net worth is $97 million (INR 800 crores approx). The website has released a list of the world’s richest pets based on Instagram analytics and their other ventures to estimate how much these pets could make.
Olivia Benson, named after one of Swift’s favourite TV show characters, has a dedicated fan following on social media and several fan clubs to its name. It has even starred alongside Swift in several of her music videos and commercials. Swift’s other cats, Meredith Grey and Benjamin Button, didn’t make the cut.
Ahead of Benson are a German Shephard, named Gunther VI, with a net worth of $500 million, and an Instagram famous cat, named Nala, with a net worth of $100 million.
Other celebrity pets on the list include Oprah Winfrey’s dogs who stand to inherit $30 million via their own trust, Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette, who earned $13 million after its owner’s death, and Betty White’s Golden Retriever Pontiac, who earned $5 million after her demise.
