BTS member Jin, AKA Kim Seokjin, is all set to take a hiatus from being a Worldwide Handsome popstar to serve in the military for the next 18 months as part of the conscription policy in South Korea.

Just before enlistment, Jin shared a selfie with his fans showing his newly shorn-off locks, with the caption, “Cuter than what I thought”.

Naturally, the selfie broke ARMY twitter and the group’s fans rushed to express their thoughts about his new look.

The singer’s agency Big Hit released a statement announcing that he would start his service on December 13, 2022, and it will last till June 12, 2024.

A few weeks earlier, Jin had condemned a news report that had leaked his enlistment details before it was officially confirmed and announced by his agency.

The ‘Moon’ singer took to Weverse to request ARMYs to not show up at the training center as it could cause a logistical nightmare for the other enlisting citizens and their families. He wrote, “There’s an article out there that I hadn’t planned on being published. In any case, ARMYs, I ask that you please refrain from coming to the training centre. There will be many other people there and it could get dangerous with a big crowd. Army I love you.”

Other BTS members will also enlist within the next few months and will, reportedly, reconvene as a group in 2025.
