Zendaya broke the hearts of millions of fans as she confirmed that she won’t be at one of the biggest nights in the fashion industry due to work commitments. Zendaya, who is the queen of red carpet looks, has previously given us some iconic looks at the MET Gala that created a stirr. Talking to Extra during a red-carpet interview at the Euphoria For Your Consideration event, Zendaya said, “I hate to disappoint my fans here, but I will be working.” The Dune star added, “Your girl’s got to work and make some movies, so I wish everyone the best. I will be playing tennis, but I will be back eventually. I’ll keep delivering in other ways.”

It’s safe to say that the star’s fans were extremely heartbroken as this will be the second year where Zendaya won’t be walking up the iconic MET steps. The last time we saw her at the Costume Institute Gala was in 2019, where she nailed the theme, ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’. As she stepped on to the pink carpet as Cinderella, her trusted stylist Law Roach came in as her fairy godfather as ‘transformed’ her Tommy Hilfiger ball gown.
The Euphoria actor will be busy filming her upcoming romantic drama, Challengers, where she plays the role of Tashi, a pro tennis player-turned-coach, who transforms her husband Art into a Grand Slam champion. But after a long losing streak, Tash persuades him to participate in the lowest pro-level tennis tournament, where he must face off against Tashi’s ex-boyfriend and his former best friend, Patrick. Zendaya will be co-starring with Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor in the sports film.
