Last year’s Quiet Luxury trend has a new face for the Summer of 2024 and it’s all about preppy courtside style. Say hello to tenniscore, a celebrity favourite trend that has taken over the runways and the Internet.

Tenniscore has been around for a while. The classic and versatile fashion trend was beloved by famous figures like Princess Diana and has been a staple for luxury labels like Ralph Lauren.

The tenniscore trend rears its head every Summer in different forms and this time its popularity can be credited to the much-anticipated upcoming movie Challengers.

Starring Zendaya, the tennis-themed movie has the actress adopt tenniscore for her promotional run around the world, aside from the custom Loewe outfits that she dons in the film.

The actress has been spotted wearing custom looks for red carpets and premieres that are contributing to the trend being adopted for street style among the masses. Her tenniscore look, as she was caught enjoying the BNP Paribas Open in March along with boyfriend Tom Holland, went viral too.

Luxury fashion houses like Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren have already made inroads into the sport with the former crafting trophies for the Australian Open and the latter being named the official outfitter of The Championships at Wimbledon.

Chanel, too, hyped up the trend through its Cruise 2023 showcase where models walked down the runway in white two-piece sets and rackets slung over their shoulders.

The trend’s enduring popularity can be credited to its approachability and versatility. There’s a good chance you already have the staples of the trend in your wardrobe. Think polo shirts, preppy pleated skirts, wide legged pants and oversized blazers in breathable fabrics.

There’s also the ever-so-stunning tennis bracelet, named for the tennis champion Chris Evert whose diamond bracelet broke in the middle of a play at the US Open in 1978. The bracelet has been seeing a resurgence in popularity with celebrities like Hailey Bieber being spotted rocking the accessory.

Would you adopt the trend for the Summer?
