Kareena Kapoor To Make Her Netflix Debut In The Film Adaptation Of Japanese Mystery Novel ‘The Devotion Of Suspect X’

If you’re a fan of Japanese author Keigo Higashino, then you’re in for a treat. The Bollywood adaptation of Higashino’s most acclaimed novel The Devotion Of Suspect X has been finally confirmed by Netflix!


Over the years, there have been many rumours surrounding the movie adaptation of the fan-favourite book but the news everyone has been waiting for is finally here. The streaming platform has announced that Kareena Kapoor Khan is making her big digital debut in the adaptation of the mystery novel in an untitled film directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

The actress, who was last seen onscreen in Angrezi Medium (2020), is going to be a part of the upcoming mystery, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma.

Ghosh, who has previously directed Vidya Balan’s Kahaani (2012) and Taapsee Pannu’s Badla (2019), revealed that he is super excited to work with the actors in the movie adaptation of the book. “(The Devotion of Suspect X) is probably the best love story I’ve ever read and to get a chance to adapt it into a film is such an honour,” he said in a statement.

The award-winning Japanese novel revolves around a single mother who unwittingly gets involved in a murder that leads her to meet two men that would change the course of her life.
