Being a successful entrepreneur and changemaker in equal measure is a rare find, but in Diipa Büller-Khosla, it’s evident in spades. The wife, mother and social media influencer wears several hats, all while making positive changes and empowering those around her—and looking ultra-stylish at any given second while she does it. She chats with HELLO! about all the exciting things life is bringing her this year...

HELLO!: Diipa, what’re three things no one knows about you?

Diipa Buller-Khosla: “My go-to comfort meal is biryani, my star sign is a Virgo, and I was a pre-med student before I tapped into my love for social media.”

H!: How do you manage to run indē wild, empower women, work at promoting NGOs, attend events and still be a hands-on wife and mother?

DBK: “To be honest, it is very hard and I cannot say I have mastered it. I think the most important thing for a working woman, business owner and overall content creator is that you need to take it day by day. Some days, one persona will take over the other; some days, I will have to be more CEO than creator, and sometimes I have to put things to a pause and be more mom than wife. As long as you are making time for the people you love and never jeopardise your values as a person — I would say you’re doing the job well.”

H!: You started the year on a high note with being invited back to Harvard Business School for a second time. What did it mean to you?

DBK: “My first time as a Harvard Business speaker was somewhat untraditional as I got asked to speak during the pandemic, so I had to do it virtually. It was absolutely incredible; everyone was very engaged, and I got hundreds of DMs and comments after saying how I touched the lives of many girls out there. I think I really want to shift my talk this time to discuss how to build a brand for yourself… as I grow indē wild, I realise that is just as important as it is to build a brand name for your company. We as individuals, especially minority women leaders, should inspire and empower other such students to learn how they can brand themselves and build their own sustainable competitive advantage to stand out.”

H!: What’s the downside of your job?

DBK: “Honestly, what people don’t realise with social media is it can be exhausting and there’s this constant pressure to perform perfection and continue that standard. I often deal with self-doubt and get overwhelmed about the future, but that is why it is important to stay vulnerable, to show women around the world it is normal to feel these things and that sometimes you need to have bad days to appreciate the good ones.”

H!: The next city on your bucket list?

DBK: “Definitely Bali—I see it all over my TikTok for you page—from the beautiful ocean front villas, yoga on the beach, the scenery and waterfall hikes to the gorgeous beach clubs and luxury rooftop bars. It’s a must on my list!”

H!: Your last indulgent purchase?

DBK: “A Magda Butrym dress.”

H!: What does ‘me time’ look like?

DBK: “My guilty pleasure when I need ‘me time’ is getting a classic Indian champi oil hair massage and just closing my eyes and relaxing — the best 15 minutes of my life!”

H!: What are your goals for 2024?

DBK: “Work hard and play hard! I want to make sure all the time and effort I put into working and building my brand is also met with the same amount of time and effort I spend with my family, friends and making memories with them, too. As important as it is to build for the future, I want to live in the moment and enjoy it while I can.”
