Fans of Pakistani TV shows, there’s some exciting news in store for you! Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and a host of other Pakistani superstars are coming together for the first ever Netflix Pakistan-themed original.
According to Variety, the OTT giant is developing an adaptation of Farhat Ishtiaq’s bestselling 2013 novel Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo into an eponymous TV show. The story follows two people coming from different worlds, who collide in Italy and eventually fall in love. There’s Sikandar, a Harvard law student who keeps people at a distance because of his past experiences. And Liza is an artist who is full of life but is battling with her own demons.
This isn’t the first time Ishtiaq’s novels are being adapted for the screen. In fact, Humsafar, the spectacularly popular TV show also featuring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, was based on one of her works.
Much to the joy of fans, Fawad and Mahira’s dynamic duo is reuniting after The Legend of Maula Jatt, Pakistan’s highest-grossing movie of all time. Along with them, the upcoming Netflix series also stars Fawad Khan’s Zindagi Gulzar Hai co-star Sanam Saeed as well as Hamza Ali Abbasi, Bilal Ashraf, Maya Ali, Iqra Aziz, Hania Amir, Khushaal Khan and Samina Ahmed.
While the showrunners haven’t confirmed when the show will be released for streaming, the filming has commenced and the schedule spans across picturesque locations in Italy, UK and of course, Pakistan. Are you excited to see your favourite pairing again?!
