Malaika Arora Has Her Own TV Show & So Do These Celebs

Malaika Arora broke the internet when she posted a picture of herself on Instagram and captioned it with a nonchalant “I said yes,” which naturally led to people hearing wedding bells for her and boyfriend Arjun Kapoor. However, a couple of hours after the dust settled, she clarified the rumours and let everyone know that she has “said yes” to running her very own reality show, not to marriage.

The actress took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon, and revealed that she will be starring in a Disney+ Hotstar show called Moving in with Malaika—a reality show that will allow her fans to see her life up close and personal like never before.

She shared the poster of the show and wrote, “…I said YES to @disneyplushotstar for my new reality show #HotstarSpecials #MovinginwithMalaika, where you will get to see me up close and personal, like never before. Umm, wait, what did you guys think I was talking about? Streaming from 5th Dec!“

The series, which will be taking over Koffee With Karan’s slot on the streaming platform, will revolve around Arora’s family, friends, and work. The fashionista is set to give her fans complete access to her past, present, and future through unfiltered conversations in the new show. It is also reported that the reality show will feature guest appearances from her friends and family members who will spill the juicy deets about her life.

Speaking about the reality show in a statement, the Supermodel Of The Year judge said, “For the longest time, the world has viewed me through the lens of social media. But this time I am excited to shake that up a bit. With this show, I want to break that barrier between me and my fans and invite them into my world through Moving In With Malaika. It will be a fun ride as I take everyone along with me exploring my day-to-day life with some of my closest family and friends. I am exhilarated to kick start this new venture and delighted to collaborate with Disney+ Hotstar on this.”

Gaurav Banerjee, Head of Content at Disney+ Hotstar shared, “After the successful season 7 of Koffee With Karan, we are delighted to bring before our viewers yet another exciting reality show, Moving In With Malaika. With this latest addition, we expand our catalogue of nonfiction shows, giving audiences a sneak peek into the life of Malaika Arora.”

Keeping Up With The Kardashians

The series that basically birthed the era of reality TV and led to its meteoric rise, Keeping Up With The Kardashians is a show no one can escape. Started back in 2007, KUWTK featured the members of reality TV’s first family who ended up infiltrating every corner of popular culture for over more than a decade on screen by piggybacking off their infamous scandals, friendships with wealthy socialites and business acumen. In the series, the high-profile celebrity members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan give an insight into their personal lives and reveal various secrets pertaining to their families and relationships.

And now, 13 years, 18 seasons, 10 births, nine spin-offs, three on-screen marriages, loads of criticism, and a combined Instagram following of over 600 million later, the six women—Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie—have proved that although they were only “famous for being famous” in the 2000s, come the 2010s, they became a cultural force to be reckoned with. No one can deny that the Kardashian-Jenner influence has become ingrained into the very fabric of society, pop culture and the fashion industry.
