Bridgerton fans, it’s time to unite! The hit Netflix regency show announced that its latest season will be going in a slightly different route in comparison to Julia Quinn’s book. Season three will be jumping straight to the fourth book and will focus on the third Bridgerton, Colin, and Penelope Featherington’s love story.

Played by Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan, in the last season, we did see a hint of romance brewing between Colin and Penelope, which only made us wonder if the Bridgerton bachelor and Lady Whistledown would finally turn their friendship into something more.

The first two seasons of Bridgerton followed the books—season one focused on Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor, and season two was all about Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey finding love. While the third book is actually about Benedict, Netflix decided to exercise some creative freedom and make Colin and Penelope the focus of season three.

The upcoming season will also have a brand new addition to the Bridgerton family. Hannah Dodd, who was last seen in the hit show Anatomy of a Scandal, will be replacing Ruby Stokes as Francesca Bridgerton. While this Bridgerton sibling has had the least amount of screen time in the last two seasons, we’re hoping we might see more of the mysterious sibling in the upcoming season.
