Bridgerton season 2 has brought in a whole new perspective to south Asian representation. From drinking masala chai to having a pre-wedding haldi ceremony, the regency period drama has hit all the right notes on how to depict south Asian communities and practices right.

While the highly anticipated Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham soundtrack got the approval of Bollywood fans, a fellow desi girl took to Instagram, praising the actors and the show. Priyanka Chopra is an icon who has received worldwide recognition for her splendid performances in Bollywood and Hollywood. Chopra, who is also a fan of the popular Netflix show, posted an Instagram story with the caption “I have to say, it’s so wonderful to see desi representation on mainstream Tv. It was such an anomaly when I started. Love the show and the Sharma sisters.”

Season 2 of Bridgerton was focused on Anthony and his journey to find the perfect bride—a lady who could be the perfect Viscountess to the Viscount. While the brooding Anthony is a familiar face from season one, the Sharmas are a new addition to the show and can be seen embracing their south Asian culture that is very comfortably weaved into the story’s plotline.

A must-watch on everyone’s list today, while there are mixed reviews about season 2, we have to agree that the Sharma sisters were a smashing hit—in the eyes of the ton and the viewers.
