A product of Haryana-based Picadilly Distillery, the peated Indian single malt is made with six-row barley and is distilled in traditional copper pots. It’s then carefully matured in PX Sherry Casks for a long time in the sub-tropical climate of North India. According to the label, “This unique expression entices you with a whiff of smoke and awakens your senses to a myriad of flavours such as candied dried fruits, toasted nuts, subtle spices, oak, bittersweet chocolate and more.”

The award-winning whiskey would be released next month, just in time for Diwali gifting!

The competition is held annually and has a panel of top tastemakers and influencers from the industry participate in a rigorous blind tasting to sort out the best of the best. The entries are judged on a 100-point basis with a focus on aromatics, flavour and finish.

Other whiskeys that made it to the list include Balcones Texas 1 Single Malt, E.H Taylor Single Barrel, Eagle Rare 10 Year Old, Four Roses Single Barrel bourbon, and Morris Signature Australian Single Malt.

Another homegrown whiskey has made its way to the list. The Amrut Fusion peated malt also placed at the 20th spot with a Double Gold medal. You can check out the full list right here.
