Is The ‘Day-To-Night’ Trend From 2010 Making A Comeback?

Back in the 2010s, something called the ‘day-to-night’ look ruled fashion magazines. It was essentially a guide on putting together an outfit that could take you from morning to night wear, that could be functional to wear to office or university and also look chic at a club or a post-work hang.

If you’re a millennial, you’d know that this usually consisted of pairing a peplum top with a mini skirt and some form of a chunky necklace. OR wearing a dress with a blazer so you can hang out right after work (and take the blazer off while you do that, of course).

Now, peplum tops and chunky necklaces seem to be making a comeback. We saw Selena Gomez sport the 2024 take on the trend at the Cannes Film Festival last month in a white dress by Self-Portrait. And more recently, Kylie Jenner released an entire collection called ‘Day to Night,’ with Khy, indicating that the trend will be returning with full force.

With these looks, all that’s missing is a top-knot bun and animal print pumps and you’ll be right back living in the 2000s!
