6 Celebrity Make-Up Looks To Cop This Diwali

It’s Diwali, which means it’s the perfect time to get experimental with your make-up and turn up the glam. After all, what better opportunity to think beyond your regular make-up routine and give yourself a mini makeover?

The ever-evolving world of beauty sees a new make-up trend make its way to the trending pages of all our social media timelines. And so, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with the surplus options, especially when it comes to finding something that compliments your traditional attire for the festive days.

Recently, with the commencement of the festive season, your favourite celebrities ranging from Katrina Kaif to Kiara Advani have been serving some stunning looks in Indian wear. While you make note of their outfits, take a closer look at how their make-up elevates their ensemble.

We’ve rounded up five such festive make-up looks that are perfect to sport for your next Diwali bash.

5 Make-Up Looks Inspired By Celebrities To Cop This Diwali

1. Bronze Make-Up

At a recently-held Diwali party in Delhi, Katrina Kaif channeled autumnal elegance in a Sabyasachi lehenga. Her gorgeous ensemble was perfectly complimented by her bronze high-glam make-up look. The focal point of her look were her cheekbones, that were layered with a matte brown bronzer, complimented with a pink blush on top and a good helping of highlighter on the highpoints of her face. For her eye make-up, she opted for smokey eyes and sported a nude pink matte lipstick.

2. Retro Make-Up

Sanya Malhotra, who will soon be seen in Sam Bahadur, opted for retro glamour, keeping in tune with the time period the film is set in. While her outfit radiated a simplistic elegance, her make-up was the star of the look. The actor wore a bold deep red lip and heavily-lined eyes, over golden eyeshadow. Her curly tresses and filled-in eyebrows framed her contoured face perfectly.

3. No Make-Up Look

This one is for all those who believe in the power of minimalism. You too can achieve Kaira Advani’s look by opting for a light-coverage foundation or a tinted moisturiser that leaves behind a dewy finish. For your eyes, skip the liner and instead use a white kajal pencil on your lower lash-line, blend some brown eyeshadow in the corners of your lower lashline and complete using a volumising mascara. Don’t overfill your brows and use a sheer pink gloss for your lips.

4. Doe-Eyed Dewy Make-Up

While we’ve all seen and loved Janhvi Kapoor’s high glam make-up looks, she pleasantly surprised us with this doe-eyed one recently. Cop this look by using a medium coverage foundation with a dewy finish. Next up, use a liquid blush to achieve that ‘flushed-from-within’ effect and apply it over your cheeks and the tip of your nose. Coming to the doe eyes, curl your lashes and apply a mascara, don’t forget to separate your lashes using a lash comb or spoolie. Apply some highlighter on your cheek bones and nose, and complete the look with a glossy pink lipstick. Top it off with a setting spray that promises to leave behind a dewy finish. Letting your hair shine in its natural beauty also adds to the elegance of this look. This make-up would be really well-suited for those upcoming Diwali pujas.

5. Golden Glam Make-Up

A complete contrast to the previous looks, the golden glam make-up look is perfect for those Diwali parties that require you to bring the bling. Emulate the spirit of a firecracker like Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who uses a medium to heavy coverage foundation for her base, and follows the rules of traditional contouring and highlighting. The blinding golden eyeshadow is flanked by a winged eyeliner and long lashes. The lips are also having a party of their own, in an ombre-brown effect, achieved by using a brown lip liner and a bronze gloss. Every element of this look is OTT, thus appealing to all the maximalists out there.

6. Rosy Make-Up

Alia Bhatt’s make-up is always on point and often subject to headlines and subsequent sold-out products (did you too invest in her wedding lipstick— Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillowtalk?). During recent movie promotions, the actor matched her Rani pink (pun intended) sari with a rosy make-up look. Using a light to medium coverage foundation and a brightening concealer under the eyes, the actor sported a smudged kohl look on both her lash lines and further accentuated her lashes using a volumising mascara. To achieve that rosy look, Alia sweeped a pink blush from her cheekbones till her temples, as well as a sheer pink lipstick. She completes the look with a black bindi and strong brows, set in place using a clear brow gel.
