Karan Johar returned to the director’s chair and gave us a rom-com starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh that we still cannot get over. The amazing year that was has left us excited for what’s to come next. 2024 is going to mark a year of iconic collaborations and unexpected debuts. Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is teaming up with Mani Ratnam after nearly three decades for Thug Life, while Katrina Kaif and director Sriram Raghavan are making their Tamil-language debut this year. Most Anticipated Indian Films Of 2024

Merry Christmas

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi are coming together to star in director Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas. The director, who has delivered gems like Andhadhun and Johnny Gaddar, raised fans’ excitement after releasing a trailer that promised another intriguing thriller from the genius. The Hindi-language version of the movie also stars Radhika Apte, Sanjay Kapoor and Vinay Pathak. The bilingual film has been shot in Tamil and Hindi simultaneously and has a different supporting cast for each one.

Fighter

After giving us hits like War and Pathaan, Siddharth Anand is back with another action-packed film starring incredibly beautiful human beings jumping off things and fighting bad guys. The movie stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. It’s also India’s first aerial action film and is, reportedly, the first installment of a planned franchise.

Kalki 2898 AD

Initially titled Project K, this epic dystopian sci-fi movie has an impressive star-studded cast, including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Dulquer Salman. The new title, Kalki 2898 AD, was revealed along with a teaser at the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con. The movie’s budget of INR 600 crores makes it the most expensive Indian film to ever be made.

Thug Life

36 years after their hit collaboration with Nayakan (1987), director Mani Ratnam and actor Kamal Haasan are coming back together for Thug Life. A teaser was shared by the makers to reveal the name and a potential connection of the new movie with Nayakan. The cast also includes Trisha, Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi.

Pushpa 2: The Rule

Pushpa: The Rise (2021) was easily one of the most popular films of the year and its pan-Indian success meant that fans have been clamouring for a sequel. Now Pushpa 2: The Rule is finally set to be released in August of this year, taking us deeper into the lore of the titular character.

Game Changer

Director Shankar is making his Telugu-language directorial debut with this political thriller in 2024. Ram Charan leads this highly-anticipated movie where he, reportedly, plays a double role. The movie also stars Kiara Advani, Anjali, S.J Suryah and Nassar.

Jigra

When the teaser of Alia Bhatt’s Jigra was released, we asked ourselves: Is 2024 the year we get to see Alia Bhatt as the action hero? The actress is co-producing and starring in this Vasan Bala directorial about a sister going to great lengths to protect her brother.

Deva

Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde are going to star in Malayalam-language director Rosshan Andrrews upcoming film Deva. The movie follows a police office who finds himself getting embroiled in a dark conspiracy after being put in charge of a high profile case.
