Jewellery has always been an integral part of Indian attire, whether contemporary or traditional. Each of us has some sentiment attached to our jewellery, be it the one that’s been passed down through generations or the one that we acquire to celebrate indelible milestones and memories.

If you’re relating to the above, and have your jewellery boxes in need of some updating, you cannot miss Arundhati De-Sheth’s annual JewelArt show taking place in Mumbai.

Gilded Age, a show and sale of JewelArt, is the 2023 edition of De-Sheth’s annual exhibition of fine jewellery.

“Here in India, we live with the great privilege of having such beautiful and old techniques of hand-crafted luxury, available to us so easily,” says the jewellery expert. “In my own tiny part, I want to stay connected to our rich heritage and show contemporary Indian fine jewellery to the world. Jewellery that is not generic in quality or design, it that has soul, elegance, quality and value. Jewels that are not ‘trendy’, but are beauties for keeping.”

According to De-Sheth, the exhibition will showcase timeless pieces of jewellery that display innate grace and finesse.

The jewellery expert comes with decades of experience in curating bespoke jewellery pieces for connoisseurs and aspiring collectors around the world for their private collections. To share and celebrate fine jewellery as wearable art, De-Sheth organised her first show in 2018. Ever since then, each year jewellery enthusiasts gather together at Mumbai’s Ballard Estate to enjoy the exhibition curated by De-Sheth and the Indian auction house Pundole.

You can catch Gilded Age, A Show & Sale of JewelArt, at Pundole Art Gallery In Ballard Estate, Mumbai, on September 7, 8 and 9, 2023.
