Seven Rivers Brewing Co. originated as a collaboration between Ab InBev, the world’s largest brewery, and IHCL, South Asia’s biggest hospitality chain. The homegrown brand is all about marrying the flavours of India with global favourites and launched its first microbrewery in 2020 at Taj MG Road, Bengaluru. After establishing a presence in the burgeoning craft beer scene in the city, Seven Beers opened its second location at Taj Holiday Village Resort and Spa in Goa.

Visitors can get personalised complimentary tours from the brewers to get familiarised with the exciting range of beers, each showcasing authentic Goan flavours with a modern twist.

While their roster comprises several classic offerings that would delight any craft beer lover, including Witbier, Hefeweizen, and Kolsch, there are two standout flavours that Seven Rivers considers to be its hero variants. The Poi Lager and Kokum Gose are the perfect embodiment of the microbrewery’s intent of delivering craft beer that highlights local flavours in new and exciting ways.

The Poi Lager has been inspired by California’s classic beer style and is brewed with Goan-style bread (known as Poi). The Kokum Gose is kettle-soured and fermented with special yeast. It packs the zestiness of the beloved kokum fruit.

If all this isn’t enough to convince you that visiting the microbrewery is an essential addition to your Goan itinerary, Seven Rivers also works towards building a community. They organise events like Sip & Paint sessions, karaoke nights, and bachata dance workshops, which engage both locals and tourists alike.

If you’re someone who loves to immerse yourself in local culture and explore new flavours, then make sure to pencil in a visit to the Seven Rivers microbrewery in Goa the next time you’re in the city.
