Yellow emerged as the colour of the season for Spring/Summer 2024, especially regarding accessories and subtle accents one can add to their outfit this season. Designers such as Phillip Lim, Paloma Wool, Christopher Esber and Loewe have really brought the colour to the forefront this year and we’re thrilled to see its popularity.
In terms of streetwear, we started seeing this show up as a burst of Instagram posts by influencers wearing the iconic Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 (the yellow/black variation, of course).
All year, last year, if there was any sneaker that trumped the Adidas Sambas (a wildly popular shoe among sneakerheads right now) it was the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 in its yellow variation.
And now that the trend has bloomed fully, we’re not only seeing the colour pop-up among sneakers, but in manicures where butter-yellow nails are becoming the season’s favourite, and accessories such as bags, different outfit accents.
And let’s not forget the amount of celebrities that have been spotted wearing the colour at red carpet events. From Aubrey Plaza and Emily Ratajkowski to Rihanna and Joey King, many were seen wearing beautiful shades of yellow recently.
