HELLO!: You’re the first winner of our ‘Fashion Designer of the Year’ award at HHOF - South. How does it feel? 

Anushree Reddy: “It feels truly amazing. There’s nothing like winning at home. And it’s been exactly a decade since I started designing. So it feels really special to get this award this specific year.”

H!: Ten years is quite some time in an industry. How’s the journey been? 

AR: “It’s been a crazy journey! When I first started, I remember my father asking me, ‘You want to be a tailor?’ So at least that narrative has changed, if nothing else (laughs). I’m very happy about that.”

H!: Now more than ever, we have talent from South India drawing attention. Do you agree?

AR: “It’s great, isn’t it? It’s nice to see people from the south doing well in different fields, be it in films or business. And now, Hyderabad is also, more or less, a hub of design. There are so many budding designers here, so it feels great altogether.”

H!: The ultimate fashion or style icon in your eyes. Someone whose wardrobe game is always on point...

AR: “Honestly, I admire Anamika Khanna’s sense of style. I look up to her so much, and I really love her dressing. I also think Sabyasachi has this gold standard look.”
