Not surprisingly, the 25-year-old actor and singer is one of the most sought-after names to endorse luxury fashion brands. He is the brand ambassador for Burberry, as well as associated with names like Calvin Klein, Gucci, and Prada. He also has his own sustainable fashion line, Astro Stuffs.

Just when you thought there couldn’t be anything more this multi-hyphenated star surprised his fans with, we saw Bright don a sherwani and do a Bollywood song and dance! Yes, you read that right!

In his latest rom-com, the Indo-Thai production Congrats, My Ex! he does just that.

He plays Tim, a photographer who finds himself helping out his ex Risa (Ranee Campen) a wedding planner, who is stuck organising the wedding of another ex, played by Indian actor Mahir Pandhi. So as sparks fly, Tim and Risa find themselves caught in this comedy of errors.

When asked if he would be game to do a Bollywood film in an interview with HELLO! India, Bright said, “There’s no reason to say no! This has been a great opportunity for me to work with these amazing talented people sitting here. Also, this film is filled with the splash of Bollywood and India. So this opportunity is like once in a lifetime so why say no, right?”

His co-star Ranee Campen is also a household name in Thailand and is known for her mega-hit show Love Destiny. She confesses that the film gave them a full taste of the big fat Indian wedding. “I had just heard of Indian weddings. But then on set, I got to experience it all, the extravaganza, vibes and everything. I got to see all the details, the beauty, and it was beyond expectations, it was so extravagant and grand for real. I would love to be in Bollywood too.”

His Indian co-stars Mahir Pandhi and Anahita Bhooshan suggested Bright would be perfect as Ranveer Singh’s Rocky from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani or Ranbir Kapoor’s Bunny, from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Bright said he would love to try his hand at playing the charming Rocky Randhawa.

His boyish good looks and brooding charm have made him the poster boy of romance. His breakthrough role as Sarawat in the BL drama 2gether: The Series, one of the most watched shows, propelled both Bright and co-star Win Metawin to stardom.

He further rose up in popularity by playing Thyme in F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, the Thai adaptation of the popular Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango, which has been adapted successfully in multiple languages.

So what does he make of his popularity? “I’m driven by the fan anticipation, it influences me so much because I am not working for myself, it’s for my fans. Their love and support motivates me to be able to work harder and try to contribute and produce greater work,” he responds, earnestly.

Talking about his process, he says he is drawn to the characters and makes them as relatable as possible. So what are the narratives he would like to headline going ahead?

“Something fun, which is unputdownable and makes me lose track of time. Any type of genre something that makes you go ‘Wow! I need to watch that’.”

Congrats, My Ex! Is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
