Not only is singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh a certified double threat, he is also firmly establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with internationally after a historic performance at the Coachella music festival in California. Dosanjh became the first Punjabi artist to perform at the festival and absolutely owned the stage at the festival.

The singer cut a striking picture on stage in an all-black ensemble of a kurta and tamba and impressed the audience with an electrifying performance of some of his most popular tracks accompanied with a live band and a bhangra dance troupe for his 45-minute-long set.

Amongst the cheering audience was American DJ and producer Diplo who shared a clip of himself dancing while Dosanjh was performing on stage with the caption, “First Punjabi artist to perform at Coachella and y’all really thought I would miss it? (sic)”

Back home, Dosanjh’s Udta Punjab co-stars Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor took to Instagram to cheer the performer on. Bhatt shared a clip from his performance on Instagram with a caption simply stating “EPIC!!!!! (sic)”, while Kapoor called him the OG.

Sonam Kapoor, like most of us, expressed how she wishes she was there and Arjun Rampal pronounced Dosanjh as a “true rockstar legend”.

The ‘Lover’ singer was part of the day two lineup at the festival along with performers like Blackpink, Charli XCX, Labrinth, Kid Laroi, Bad Bunny, and Blink-182.
