ICYMI, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul kicked off this year’s wedding season with an intimate ceremony recently. The gorgeous couple tied the knot at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse amidst close friends and family.
Speculations about the wedding date and other details had been populating the Internet ever since close friends and family of the couple confirmed that the two would be getting married before the end of January. The couple shared their wedding photos with the caption “‘In your light, I learn how to love…’ Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity. With a heart full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness.”
In her characteristic style, the bride chose an elegant yet understated pink chikankari lehenga by designer Anamika Khanna. She completed the picture of old-world charm and luxury with polki jewellery. The groom complemented her look in an embroidered sherwani by the same designer.
While the wedding ceremony was super intimate and restricted to close friends and family, it didn’t stop their celebrity friends from showering the newlyweds with some jaw-droppingly extravagant gifts. Reportedly, Virat Kohli gifted KL Rahul with a BMW worth INR 2.7 crore and former captain MS Dhoni gifted the groom a Kawasaki Ninja bike which is worth INR 80 lakh. It was also reported that the father of the bride gifted the couple a swanky new apartment in Mumbai which is worth INR 50 crore.
While the reports of the gifts haven’t been confirmed by the couple, it’s clear that the newlyweds are being showered with love from friends and fans from across the world.
The wedding was attended by celebrities like Diana Penty, Krishna Shroff, Anshula Kapoor, Anushka Ranjan, Aditya Seal, Varun Aaron and Ishant Sharma.
