Priyanka Chopra reunited with her baby girl Malti Marie after a week-long trip to India and captured that sweet moment in a family photo. Chopra is now back in the US after her hectic visit to India, and she celebrated her return to Los Angeles by posting a new Instagram picture with her husband, singer-actor Nick Jonas, and their daughter, Malti Marie.
Priyanka took to Instagram on Thursday and shared a picture of her lying on the floor, giddy with happiness, with the toddler wrapped in her arms. Nick looked on lovingly from the side, as he leaned on his arm, sprawled next to her. She captioned her post with a simple, “Home.”
The Desi Girl returned to India for the first time in three years last week and spent majority of her time in the country promoting her hair-care brand, Anomaly, and fulfilling her UNICEF obligations. After a few days of press rounds in Mumbai, she travelled to New Delhi, followed by Uttar Pradesh, where she performed duties as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
Priyanka and Nick welcomed their baby daughter in January, via surrogacy. They’ve strictly kept their child away from the media glare and haven’t officially revealed her face to the public yet. However, like any other celebrity couple, they’ve established somewhat of a middle ground by often sharing pictures of her on social media with giant emojis concealing her face.
Introducing her to the world on Mother’s Day earlier this year, the Sky Is Pink actress had revealed that Malti Marie spent over 100 days in the NICU before they could bring her home. “Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is,” she shared.
Chopra has predominantly worked in Hollywood in the last few years following her Quantico stint, and her last Hindi film was 2019’s The Sky is Pink co-starring Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. She will make a comeback to Hindi films with Zoya Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa, in which she will share screen space with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
