Benedict Cumberbatch Thinks This Bollywood Superstar Would Make For A Great Marvel Superhero

Bollywood has not had as much luck with the superhero genre as the West. Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish (the first one, we’d like to forget about the existence of the second one please and thank you) comes as the closest one to an original superhero ‘franchise’ in recent history.

But Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness actor Benedict Cumberbatch believes Shah Rukh Khan could make for a great Marvel superhero, adding to our growing theory that Ra.One was just a figment of our fevered imagination.

(It’s not, is it?)

When news agency PTI asked Cumberbatch which Bollywood actor he thinks could be a part of the MCU between Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan (based on their onscreen-superhero-playing-credentials, we presume), the British actor replied, “Khan is great.”

So while the world might have panned Ra.One and Khan’s turn as a superhero/robot, Cumberbatch believes he can be the next big Marvel superhero we’d be clamoring to see onscreen. As weathered SRK fans, we love the optimism, Doctor Strange!

The Sherlock actor also spoke about his past experience travelling across India when he had travelled to Darjeeling to teach English at a Tibetan monastery for six months. “I love your country, I love your culture and cultures. It feels like I was there almost a lifetime ago, in my late teens for six months of teaching, exploring and travelling as well. I’d love to have an excuse to come back and if that’s to interact with the first Indian superhero, bring it on.”

There you have it, straight from Doctor Strange himself. Which actor do you think would work best as an MCU superhero?
