The teaser for the much-anticipated sequel to Captain Marvel is here and it looks like the MCU is back to what it does best: put together a dysfunctional group of superheroes and give them a common enemy to fight.

Directed by Nia Dacosta, The Marvels is going to see Carol Danver’s Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) team up with Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) when they realise that the three can mysteriously swap powers with each other.

We got a glimpse of this during the mid-credits scene at the end of the Disney+ TV series Ms. Marvel, when Danvers shows up in Khan’s New Jersey home unexpectedly.

The teaser shows the three superheroes attempting to figure out why their powers keep getting switched between each other while a threat looms ahead.

We see Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury in the movie and Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur return from Ms. Marvel.

But the one star that most fans were excited to see was South Korean actor, and K-drama darling, Park Seo-joon. Ever since it was announced that the Itaewon Class actor would become a part of the MCU with The Marvels, fans of the star have been eagerly waiting to see what it would look like.

The new trailer gives us a short glimpse at a long-haired Seo-joon wielding a sword while wearing brightly-coloured armour as he stands flanked by soldiers ready to charge at an unseen threat.

Speculations say that he is going to play the role of the prince of Aldana, a planet where they only communicate through song and dance. It is also rumoured that he would be playing Danvers’ ‘husband’ in the movie.

For now, we only have frenzied speculations to rely on as nothing has been officially confirmed about his role in the movie.
