Lucky for us, this month is packed with exciting new releases and comebacks of some of your favourite shows. Abhishek Bachchan and Yami Gautam starrer Dasvi will be available to stream on Netflix soon and Sakshi Tanwar’s new murder mystery titled Mai is also releasing on the platform. New seasons of popular shows like Gullak, Elite, and Russian Doll will also be released online in April!

Dasvi (10th April)

Abhishek Bachchan’s Netflix debut comes in the form of this much-anticipated film, also starring Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur. In the movie, Bachchan plays the role of an uneducated politician who gets convicted for his involvement in a teacher recruitment scam. While in custody, he decides to get back to studying and pass the 10th-grade exam.

The Bubble (1st April)

This Judd Apatow comedy is about a group of actors who are stuck inside a hotel because of the pandemic bubble and are attempting to make a film while inside the bubble. The movie stars Karen Gillan, Leslie Mann, Vir Das, Iris Apatow, Pedro Pascal, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kate McKinnon.

Gullak Season 3 (7th April)

The much-anticipated third season of this slice-of-life drama is releasing on SonyLiv this month. Set in the quaint by-lanes of a small town in Northern India, the show follows the Mishra family through the eyes of their gullak (piggy bank). The show stars Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, and Harsh Mayar.

Mai (15th April)

Like the title suggests, the show is about a mother. More specifically, a mother’s quest to unravel the truth behind her daughter’s gruesome death. Produced by Anushka Sharma’s Clean Slate Filmz, the show stars Sakshi Tanwar, Vivek Mushran, Seema Pahwa, and Raima Sen.

Elite Season 5 (8th April)

The Spanish high school drama is back with a fifth season this month. The trailer revealed that another student at the Las Encinas school is dead and the show will follow the investigation into the murder. Special preview clips have also revealed that there are going to be some new faces roaming the halls of the school this season.

This sci-fi romantic comedy stars Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor. The story is set in the far, far future where Mars has been terraformed, following two students who sneak aboard a spaceship to reunite with their loved ones.

Russian Doll Season 2 (20th April)

One of the best and most underrated Netflix Originals, Russian Doll is coming back with a new season this month. The Emmy-nominated series will pick up four years after Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) escape the mortality’s time loop together. But it’s not the end of their existential woes, the two have to delve into their past to figure out a way to escape a fate worse than endless death.
