Earlier this year, we saw Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani’s first pre-wedding bash take place at the Reliance Greens in Jamnagar. Now, for the second pre-wedding bash, the Industrialist family thew a four-day cruise that made multiple stops throughout the Mediterranean in May.
The journey began in Italy and ended in the South of France. The 1,200-person guest list of their friends and family, which included some of the biggest names to reckon with in the world. The celebrations begin in Sicily, Italy, where the guests were welcomed with a beautiful lunch and later in the day, with a Backstreet Boys concert! Popstars ranging from Katy Perry to Guru Randhawa also treated guests to some high-octane performances.
While the opulence shined through every element of the celebrations, the fashion quotient at events hosted by the Ambanis — ranging from the NMACC opening to the wedding festivities of all three heirs (Akash, Isha and Anant) — always runs high. Given the nature of the ‘intimate’ celebrations, not a lot of visuals from the event made it to the public eye. The country had been waiting with baited breathe to get a peak inside, virtually witness the grandeur of the celebrations and the extravagant fashion. Radhika Merchant’s Outfits For Her Pre-Wedding Cruise Bash:
1. A Starry Night
For the first event, before the cruise, Radhika wore a beautiful Robert Wun dress which was printed with words out of a love letter written by Akash to Radhika when they were 22. How romantic!
2. Toga Party Concert
Merchant wore a superbly crafted dress, comprising a golden metal bodice and a white body-hugging skirt, by New York-based designer Grace Ling for the second event. It was the Toga Party Concert where DJ David Guetta had everyone on his feet with his rocking set!
3. A Masquerade Ball
This time around, Radhika wore an elegant Versace dress with blue shades made to match the colour of the Côte d’Azur’s water. She was styled by none other than Shaleena Nathani for the masquerade ball held at Château de la Croix des Gardes, where Katy Perry and Pitbull performed. A key element of this look was the Lorraine Schwartz blue opal necklace. Her ensemble made her look like a real-life Disney princess.
4. Farmer’s Market In Portofino
On the last night of their cruise bash, the soon-to-be-bride wore an archival Yves Saint Laurent for Dior dress, sourced by Hollywood celebrity stylist Mimi Cuttrell. The Ambani family converted the main square of the city into a farmer’s market with charming stalls and a lot of fanfare. For this event, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli performed and sang the romantic classic “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You”.
5. Here Comes The Queen
While its not clear which event Radhika wore the ethereal Tamara Ralph gown for, it was glorious enough to send the Indian internet into a frenzy. She channeled Queen energy in the luxurious white double satin draped gown with a dramatic overskirt, which was adorned with white silk roses and encrusted crystal roses. She completed the look with a crown made of silver roses.
