Fukrey co-stars and long-time Bollywood couple Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s wedding countdown is making waves on the internet with tidbits about the grand wedding festivities and venues floating around. Spanning two cities and a couple of quirky venues, the wedding celebrations are scheduled to begin in Delhi on 30 September and continue till 7 October in Mumbai as per reports. Their first wedding reception will be held in Delhi on 2 October, after which they will fly back to Mumbai and throw a second reception party on 7 October at a kitschy venue, apt for their outgoing off-screen personalities.

Chadha and Ali initially had decided to get married in April 2020, but COVID-19 had other plans for them, pushing the date forward by two years. With only a few days left for the wedding celebrations to commence, we’ve heard through the grapevine that the couple has forsaken the customary banquet hall and are going for a more offbeat venue, The Great Eastern Home in Mumbai. A former 176-year old windmill, now refurbished as a contemporary furniture store and event space, the gorgeous venue looks like something straight out of a fairytale romantic comedy.

After chancing upon the couple’s whimsical wedding invitation, proving that they are a ‘match’ made in heaven, all of us are eager to see pictures of their reception venue. The unique and fun invite, which is shaped like a matchbox, bears the text “Couple Matches.”

Check out a few visuals of the stunning venue below.

The Great Eastern Home has hosted a number of parties, weddings, fashion shows and festivals in the past, and is getting a grand makeover thanks to the wedding planners as per the couple’s ideas and briefs about the decor and interior design. Rumour has it that the duo has opted to use recycled wood and eco-friendly adornments for their wedding rituals. The area is all set to transform into a luxurious experiential space for their special day.

For those who haven’t been up to date with the couple’s journey, the duo has been together since 2015 after crossing paths for the first time on the sets of their movie Fukrey (2013). Richa and Ali also co-starred in the sequel Fukrey Returns (2017) and will share screen space once again in the third instalment of the franchise.
