Gilmore Girls fans, listen up! We finally have confirmation on who the father of Rory Gilmore’s (Alexis Bledel) baby is and it’s going to do nothing to alleviate the disappointment of the finale of 2016’s revival Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life.

If you’d recall, the show found itself added to the list of ever-growing TV shows that drop the ball on delivering a satisfying (and sensible) conclusion to the character’s arc in the show’s finale (looking at you Game of Thrones and How I Met Your Mother). The Netflix series ended with Rory revealing to her mother Lorelai (Lauren Graham) that she was pregnant in the last few seconds of the final episode without confirming who the father of the baby was.

Over the years, fans have combed through the preceding moments on the show to figure out who it could be, with many outlandish theories coming forward (it was never going to be Jess, you guys!).

But Valerie Campbell, a former costume supervisor on the show, has finally put all theories to rest and revealed the father of Rory’s baby and it shouldn’t come as any surprise to us.

The father of Rory Gilmore’s unplanned baby is…*drumroll*...Logan!

Surprised? You shouldn’t be.

According to Campbell, it’s simple math. In a TikTok video, the costume supervisor broke down how easy it should have been for people to figure out who the father should be. It couldn’t have been Paul (Jack Carpenter) because Rory “definitely wasn’t with” him and it couldn’t have been the one night stand who was dressed as a Wookie because it would have meant that Rory would be showing a baby bump by the time she spilled the beans to Lorelai. “We never gave her a pregnancy belly,” dismissed Campbell, throwing Wookie out of the equation.

“The only obvious choice is- you guessed it- Logan!” she said, referring to Rory’s on-and-off again boyfriend (Matt Czuchry). The two were sleeping together, despite being in relationships with other people at the time, and had one last fling during fall when Logan visited Stars Hollow.

In a follow up video, Campbell also revealed that the show’s creator Amy Sherman Palladino had told Czuchry about the pregnancy reveal and had asked him to keep it a secret.

We’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out and hope that Netflix decides to renew the revival series for a second season.
